Stewart avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Stewart' avocado (Persea americana 'Stewart') is a tree for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. It is grown for its buttery, nutty fruits, which are pear shaped and have smooth, dark skin. The tree is an A Type, so it needs a B Type nearby to set fruit on both trees.

Pairs well with Pittosporum, Shrimp plant, and Sichuan pepper.
