Notes

'Summer's Tower' Texas redbud (Cercis canadensis Summers Tower) is a multi-stemmed tree for borders, specimen planting, woodland gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows at a moderate pace and blooms in spring. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit it.

Pairs well with European white birch, Chocolate Ruffles coral bells, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
