Notes

Sweet autumn clematis (Clematis paniculata) is a vine for containers and low-maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Fragrant flowers open from early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Festiva Maxima peony, Black Baccara rose, and Autumn fern.
