Notes

Sweet goldenrod (Solidago odora) is a perennial for borders, low maintenance gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Yellow flowers appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit them. Crushed leaves give off an anise scent. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Sedge, and Rose.
