Notes

Thinleaf huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum) is a shrub for food gardens, native gardens, and informal hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet soil. Creamy pink to yellow flowers open in late spring and bring bees. Dark berries follow in late summer, and they hold many tiny seeds. The shrub resprouts from the base, so you can cut it back if needed.

Pairs well with Gro-Low fragrant sumac, Sensitive fern, and Panicle hydrangea.
