Notes

'Timothy' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Timothy') is a perennial for borders, containers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Tall flower spikes appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Hummingbird's mint, Fountain grass, and California poppy.
