Notes
'Unique' peony (Paeonia 'Unique') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Its fragrant red flowers attract butterflies and bees, and the dark foliage grows up to 30 inches tall. Roger F. Anderson bred it.
Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Carlton daffodil.
