Notes

'Verbena bonariensis' purple top ('Verbena bonariensis') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Lilac purple flowers top the stiff, airy stems from early summer until hard frost. Let it self-seed for next year's display, and plant it near the front of the border so you can see past the stems to the plants beyond. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Sundrops, Blue-eyed grass, and Mondo grass.
