Notes

'Viking Chief' peony (Paeonia 'Viking Chief') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The semi-double pink blooms have darker flecks and a sweet scent. Roy G. Klehm bred it in 1979.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Western sword fern, African Queen lily, and Bobo hydrangea.
