Notes

'Violet Queen' autumn crocus (Colchicum 'Violet Queen') is a bulb for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy soil. Purple flowers open from early to late autumn on plants 6 to 9 inches tall and wide. Bees visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Black Parrot tulip, Wormwood, and Buffalo grass.
