Notes

'Violet Star' Greek thimbleweed (Anemone blanda 'Violet Star') is a bulb for woodland gardens, rock gardens, ground cover, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Lavender flowers with white petal bases and yellow centers open in early to late spring above finely cut foliage. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. Plant it under deciduous trees, because it goes dormant in summer.

Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Golden Tiara hosta, and Paris coral bells.
