Notes

'Blue Star' Greek thimbleweed (Anemone blanda 'Blue Star') is a bulb for rock gardens, woodland gardens, and naturalized drifts. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Bright blue flowers open in early to late spring above finely cut leaves. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Plant it under deciduous trees, because it goes dormant in summer.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Japanese forest grass, and Autumn fern.
