'Wave Spectrum' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Wave Spectrum') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms in early to late spring with violet flowers that carry violet-red flares. William J. Seidl bred it, and it grows tall with blue-green leaves.
