Notes

'Wickson' apple (Malus domestica 'Wickson') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. It is grown for juice and hard cider, and its fruit has a strong sweet and acid flavor. Albert Etter bred it, and you need a second apple nearby because it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Thimbleberry, Western sword fern, and Purrsian Blue nepeta.
