Notes

'Winter Thyme' thyme (Thymus vulgaris 'Winter Thyme') is an herb for ground cover, rock gardens, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its fragrant evergreen leaves stay on the plant through winter, and bees and butterflies visit it. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It is drought tolerant and salt tolerant, so it suits dry spots.

Pairs well with Berggarten sage, Phlox, and Calamint.
