Notes
'Wolff' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Wolff') is a shrub for specimen, accent, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows slowly into a broad form that reaches 10 to 15 feet tall. Reddish-purple spring flowers draw bees, and the leaves turn color in fall.
Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Little brown jug, Bluebell, and Rising Sun Texas redbud.
