Notes

'Yellow Ingestrie' apple (Malus domestica 'Yellow Ingestrie') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers open from early to late spring and attract bees. The fruit turns more yellow as it matures, and Thomas Andrew Knight bred it in 1800. Plant a second apple nearby, since this tree is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Weigela, Francee hosta, and Gardenia peony.
