Notes
Yellow meadow rue (Thalictrum flavum) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It grows 24 to 48 inches tall and wide. Fragrant yellow flowers draw bees.
Pairs well with Kansas peony, Pyrethrum, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Polish Spirit clematis.
Native range
Spain and Northwestern Africa.
