'Yu Pan Cheng Lu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Yu Pan Cheng Lu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant pink semi-double flowers open in early to mid spring and fade to light pink at the petal edges. Each bloom is about 12.7 cm (5”) across. The stems are hardy and wind does not easily damage them.
Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Sedge, Rose, and Monkshood.
