Notes
'Zuchau Weisse' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Zuchau Weisse') is a shrub for the border and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant semi-double flowers open soft lilac-pink in mid spring and fade to white, with dark aubergine flares at the petal base. The new leaves emerge red and turn green. Burghard Ebert bred it.
Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Mock orange, and Garlic chives.
