Notes
'Alba' checkered lily (Fritillaria meleagris 'Alba') is a bulb for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Creamy white, bell shaped flowers hang from arching stems in spring, and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Plants bulk up into nice clumps over time.
Pairs well with Carlton daffodil, Little Beauty tulip, Empress Wu hosta, and Western sword fern.
