Notes
'Alexandra' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Alexandra') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are red with a yellow center. Dr. Alexander Steffen bred it. It stays under 28 inches tall, so it fits well near the front of a bed.
Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Weigela, Niobe clematis, and Garlic chives.
