'Almaden' iris (Iris 'Almaden') is a perennial for borders and vertical accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The dark red blooms are lightly ruffled and fragrant, and they open in early to late spring. Divide the clumps every two to three years just after blooming. Rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Orange lily, Sedge, and Campfire rose.
