Notes

'Bad Rappenau' peony (Paeonia 'Bad Rappenau') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Its fragrant double flowers are violet-red with black flares and draw bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Irmtraud Rieck bred it.

Pairs well with Clustered bellflower, Blonde Ambition blue grama, Stella de Oro daylily, and Black Hero tulip.
