Notes
'Bergman' Canadian hemlock (Tsuga canadensis 'Bergman') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows at a rapid rate to 4 to 6 feet tall, with an arching form. This evergreen gives birds cover all year.
Pairs well with Western sword fern, Royal fern, and Red trillium.
