Notes

'Bennett' Canadian hemlock (Tsuga canadensis 'Bennett') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. This evergreen has an arching habit and grows at a rapid rate. It reaches 36 to 60 inches tall, and birds are drawn to it.

Pairs well with Regal Splendor hosta, Blackhaw viburnum, Piilu clematis, and Autumn crocus.
