Notes

'Big Smile' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Big Smile') is an annual for borders, containers, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its yellow and golden blooms attract butterflies, bees, and birds. It grows fast and tolerates drought. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Xsenia cosmos, Black Velvet nasturtium, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Red fescue.
