'Black Magic' lily-of-the-nile (Agapanthus 'Black Magic') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). Give it full sun. The tubular flowers are a rich purple black and some look completely black in certain light. They open from early to late summer above strap-like green leaves. Mulch the plant each winter with fallen leaves.

Pairs well with Society garlic, Mondo grass, Gypsy rose, and Star of bethlehem.
