Notes

'Blue Enchantress' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blue Enchantress') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, shade gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Large mopheads bloom blue in acidic soil and pink in alkaline soil. It reblooms from early summer until frost, and you can mulch the stems deeply in colder climates. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Western sword fern, Foam flower, and Katsura tree.
