Notes

'Blue Velvet' honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea 'Blue Velvet') is a shrub for hedges, food gardens, and low maintenance plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Fragrant flowers open in spring, and birds visit the plant. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Berry Poppins winterberry, Dalmatian bellflower, Carlton daffodil, and Foxtail barley.
