Notes

'Bolero' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Bolero') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It forms a clumping mound and tolerates drought. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Lady's mantle, Purple Sensation ornamental onion, and Lupine.
