Notes

'Chatelaine' lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus 'Chatelaine') is a perennial for cut flowers, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. The fragrant pink, white, and bicolor flowers bloom in spring and again in summer, and butterflies and hummingbirds visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also serves as a larval host to many butterfly species.

Pairs well with Wormwood, Flowering quince, and Buffalo grass.
