Notes
'Russell's Formula Mix' lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus 'Russell's Formula Mix') is a perennial for cut flowers, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its fragrant flowers come in red, yellow, and pink, and bumblebees pollinate them. Deer tend to pass it by. Hummingbirds visit the tall spikes too.
Pairs well with Blue fescue, Panicle hydrangea, and Wormwood.
