Notes

'Chico' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Chico') is a bulb for borders and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its slender spider-type petals show deep red, green, and cream, and you can grow it in a pot outside in summer. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Each First Size bulb sends up 1 to 2 flowering stems.

Pairs well with Labyrinth dahlia, Mondo grass, and Spurge.
