Notes

'Cobra' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Cobra') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Tangerine flower spikes fade to cream and appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, drawing hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The plant is evergreen and tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Hummingbird's mint, Fountain grass, and Black Baccara rose.
