Notes

'Cologreen' Rocky mountain juniper (Juniperus scopulorum 'Cologreen') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Its columnar shape stays narrow, and it grows slowly. This evergreen tolerates drought and salt, and birds and butterflies visit it.

Pairs well with Eastern white pine, Common milkweed, and Witch hazel.
