Notes

'Wichita Blue' Rocky mountain juniper (Juniperus scopulorum 'Wichita Blue') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly into a fragrant, evergreen column, so it stays tidy for years. Birds and butterflies visit it, and it handles drought and salt.

Pairs well with Panicle hydrangea, Prairie dropseed, Nodding onion, and Alexander Fleming peony.
