Notes

'Curley' Canadian hemlock (Tsuga canadensis 'Curley') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. This evergreen has an arching shape, grows at a rapid rate, and reaches 36 to 60 inches tall. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Birds are drawn to it.

Pairs well with Western sword fern, Red trillium, and Autumn Brilliance juneberry.
