Notes

'Doris' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Doris') is a bulb for borders, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The flowers are rich crimson, and J. Veitch & Sons bred it. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Bloom time runs from early to late spring and early to late winter.

Pairs well with Silver sage, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Purple top, and Spurge.
