Notes
Douglas mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana) is a perennial for ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its gray-green leaves are aromatic, and birds like the seeds and use it for perching and cover. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It is useful in revegetation projects.
Pairs well with Hummingbird sage, California wild rose, and Indigo bush.
