Notes

'L.A. Dreamin' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'L.A. Dreamin') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Blue flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn, and acidic soil with a pH of 4.5-5.5 keeps them blue. It sits low on the menu for deer. Keep pets and horses away because it is toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.

Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, Lady fern, and Lungwort.
