Notes

'Dutchman' ornamental onion (Allium 'Dutchman') is a bulb for borders, pollinator gardens, and cut flower arrangements. It is typically grown as an annual. It is one of the more cold-hardy crops and can keep growing through light freezes with some winter protection. This plant likes full or part sun. Lavender purple spheres up to 8 inches across sit on stems 2 to 3 feet high. Bees love the tightly packed florets, and the foliage lasts better than other cultivars at flowering time.

Pairs well with Perennial Lupine, Bladder campion, and Lovage.
