Notes

'Emir' ornamental onion (Allium 'Emir') is a bulb for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. Its fragrant violet blooms sit on 37 inch stems and draw butterflies and bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Leonid Bondarenko bred it.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Karl Rosenfield peony.
