Notes

'Eye Catcher' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Eye Catcher') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a clumping mound, tolerates drought, and blooms in spring and again in summer. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Baby's breath, Iris, Brookside crane's-bill, and Lady's mantle.
