Notes
'Flashpoint' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Flashpoint') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It stays evergreen and handles drought and salt.
Pairs well with Silver feather grass, Russian sage, Coneflower, and Globe thistle.
