Notes

'Great Wall' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Great Wall') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Seven inch, semi-double blooms are bright red with maroon flares and have a sweet scent. They open from late spring to early summer on a low, broad plant. Harold Entsminger bred it.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Greig's tulip, Sedge, and Bellwort.
