Notes
'Hercules' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Hercules') is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The flowers are dark pink-red and stand 12 to 24 inches tall. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. You can grow it in a pot and move it to a sheltered spot when cold weather comes.
Pairs well with Mondo grass, Totally Tangerine dahlia, and False shamrock.
