Notes

Himalayan foxtail lily (Eremurus himalaicus) is a bulb for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Tall spikes of white flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Mountain mint, and Gladiolus.

Afghanistan, western Himalayas, and Pakistan.
