Notes

'Jenny Bloom' red-hot poker (Kniphofia 'Jenny Bloom') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Tall flower spikes open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Globe thistle, Silver feather grass, and Russian sage.
