Notes

'Karine' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Karine') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a clumping mound, tolerates drought, and blooms in spring and again in summer. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Lady's mantle, Purple Sensation ornamental onion, and Lupine.
